Description
• The ergonomic packing station is designed
around the operator’s, product and process.
• Operator’s movements and vision area are analyzed
using an ergonomic posture program.
• An optimum position is defined taking into consideration
repetition, force, posture, reach, contact stress, vibration, product
size and weight, and environmental variables (light, temperature,
noise).
Sample configurations
Parallel packing station
• The parallel packing station is used in the cartoning of
small products.
• The product arrives in front of the operator via the infeed
conveyor.
• The operator picks it up and places it on the inclined shipper.
• When the shipper is full, the operator pushes the shipper
into the out going conveyor.
Parallel process station
• The parallel process station is used in process involving
consecutive manual activity for small products.
• The product arrives in front of the operator via the infeed
conveyor.
• The operator processes the product and places it on the
outfeed conveyor.
• The outfeed conveyor from operator 1 is the infeed conveyor
for operator 2.
• The number of stations required is dictated by the process.
